Tasty and Easy Dessert: Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bars
We usually bake at least one recipe per week to enjoy as a sweet treat for desserts, and we love sharing our favorites with you here! Especially if they are easy, cheap, and tasty.
Yesterday we made Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bars and they were super quick and simple to put together, included cheap ingredients, and they were absolutely delectable!
While recipes that require layering different batters can be tedious, this one was actually very straightforward. All of the ingredients are items we typically keep in our kitchen, so we had everything we needed on hand. For those of you looking for budget-friendly meals and desserts, this is another one for you. Check out the complete list of ingredients and head to Spice Kitchen + Bar for the full recipe below:
Ingredients
Cookie Batter:
- Brown Sugar
- Granulated Sugar
- Flour
- Vanilla Extract
- Salt
- Baking Soda
- Eggs
- Butter
- Chocolate Chips
Cream Cheese Batter:
- Cream Cheese
- Granulated Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
- Egg
You’ll be keeping these two batters separate until it comes time to bake them together, so make sure you have two mixing bowls at the ready! These are baked in a 13 in x 9 in pan, so you’ll need to have the pan ready as well.

Items to Note
The cream cheese ensures the bars remain moist, so you don’t have to worry about them drying out. However, this recipe does need to sit in the refrigerator following baking in order to set, so the bars can’t be cut or eaten immediately after removing from the oven. Just keep this in mind if you’re short on time and looking for something you can bake and go!
